October is Pastor Appreciation Month

October is Pastor Appreciation month. If you have or know one then do something to show your appreciation. If you haven't been going to a church then just showing up on any Sunday this month might be enough.

As you may know, I go to Northpointe in Hillcrest. I want to show my appreciation to it's leader Kenny Mulligan. In the past, I've taken him golfing for Pastor Appreciation month.

This would be a great week to take your pastor golfing because the weather is good and the golf courses are on Fall prices so it's cheaper. With the money you save, you can put the extra in the plate on Sunday.

Taking the pastor to golf makes me think of the Caddyshack movie and the scene with Bill Murray.

Carl: I'd keep playing. I don't think the heavy stuff's gonna come down for quite awhile.

Bishop: You're right. Anyway, the Good Lord would never disrupt the best game of my life...We know how the scene ended.

Also it'll give me a chance to share my favorite golf joke. Why do you hold a 1 iron over your head if it starts to lightning??? Because not even God can hit a 1 iron.

Also if I take Kenny golfing then I can have a Mulligan on every hole...Get it, his name is Kenny Mulligan.....never mind.

So let your pastor know how much you appreciate how much they do. If you don't have one, you can always borrow mine.

Once again, showing up is probably what they would appreciate the most. Remember, just showing up for Easter and Christmas (Chreaster) doesn't count.
