My son, Devon, is a huge Pittsburgh Penguin fan! Before they played the New York Rangers last week, he told me that the Rangers made wishes come true for two young cancer survivors just before the game.

Last week, the New York Rangers signed 15-year-old, Chris Falzone, to an honorary one-day contract. Falzone was diagnosed with cancer in the beginning of his freshman year of high school.

He was told he would never be able to play hockey again, but with extensive therapy, he beat the odds and joined the Rangers for their pre-game skate! He was even announced with the starting lineup!

But that's not the only thing the Rangers did. Before the opening face-off, Lucia Funaro, another 15-year-old cancer survivor, got to live out her dream of singing the national anthem in Madison Square Garden.

Hockey gets a bad raps sometimes for it's rough play and fights, but it's things like this that certainly help it's image.

I wasn't much of a Ranger fan before, since Washington is my NHL team of choice and well, the Binghamton Senators are my favorite hockey team, ever. But I can happily say that I'm definitely more of a Ranger fan now!
