Today is National Pancake Day, a day IHOP created 12 years ago with the goal to raise money for Children's Miracle Network. IHOP expects to serve up more than 5 million pancakes, which if stacked, would stand almost 19 miles high.

Today only, you can get a get short stack of buttermilk pancakes for free. In return for the free pancakes, you'll be asked to consider leaving a donation for Children's Miracle Network Hospital at Geisinger Hospital to help take care of kids right here in our community who have serious medical needs.

Since IHOP started National Pancake Day in 2006, they've raised $24 million to support charities in the communities in which they operate. In 2016 alone, $4 million dollars was raised. This year, IHOP hopes to raise $3.5 million dollars.

National Pancake Day 2017 runs from 7am to 7pm at IHOP at 3720 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal. We chatted Melissa from IHOP and she hopes that 3,000 people will show up today to eat delicious pancakes and donate to Children's Miracle Network and Geisinger Hospital.

Last year, they raised $2,500 and with your help, they want to double it. Spread the word to everyone you know and make plans to stop before 7pm today. I plan on taking the girls this afternoon after school and would love to see you.

The Hawk Morning Show celebrated today by sending our short stack (Traci Taylor) to get a short stack to help out the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and we reached into our wallets to make a donation. We hope you will too.
