Mental Health Association Exec. Keith Leahey on So.Tier Close Up
Dealing with the coronavirus pandemic is having an emotional strain on everyone. The head of the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier, Keith Leahey is the guest on the weekly, local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up to offer some valuable information on dealing with today's stresses.
The MHAST director points out everyone is feeling the effects of the ramifications of quarantine, social distancing and extra time with family from the heads of government to heads of households to individuals dealing with anxiety and stress on their own.
Leahey says its important to step back from the news while still staying informed on keeping you and your family safe and the latest regulations and orders.
Leahey says he wants people to know that, while MHAST has seen a huge increase in demand for services, one phone line getting an 800% increase in calls over a matter of two weeks, staff is working remotely and is available for clients and others in the community.
