The Rumble Ponies lost two of three at home against the Harrisburg Senators. On August 9, Binghamton headed to Hartford, Connecticut, to take on the Yard Goats and hopefully get out of their funk.

Through the first four innings, it was primarily a pitcher's duel as both teams weren't able to score. It wasn't until the top of the fifth when the tie was broken by Jason Krizan as he hit a solo home-run to right field. The Rumble Ponies were on the board first and led 1-0 after five.

The Yard Goats would storm back in the bottom of the eighth. Luis Castro's sac fly would lead to Manuel Melendez coming home to tie the game. Then it was Chris Rabago with the RBI single to center field that scored Vance Vizcaino and Alan Trejo. This would help Hartford grab a 3-1 lead.

Binghamton had a shot in the top of the ninth to stay alive but unfortunately couldn't manage to rally back and suffered defeat by a final score of 3-1. This loss sets the Rumble Ponies record to 58-57 overall. The second game of the three-game series will be played on August 10 starting at 6:05 P.M.
