Garth Brooks to Make Television History This Thursday

Garth Brooks is back and in a huge way. I love everything about Garth, but especially how he walked away from it all to focus on being a dad. To me, that's incredibly admirable.

Garth was on top of the world with everything a person could imagine at his fingertips and he walked away from it because he made a promise to keep his family first. Garth took a couple years off and now that his kids are older, he's returned to his musical roots.

On Thursday January 8th, Garth will make television history by appearing on the 'Today Show' on NBC for all four hours of their show, from 7am to the 11am hour with Hoda and Kathy Lee- a first in the 62 years the 'Today Show' has been around.

Garth will be on the show to promote his first studio album since 2001, 'Man Against Machine.' Details haven't been released on what if any songs he'll sing, but I'm hoping he'll perform the gut-wrenching “Mom.”  If you haven't heard the song yet, you really should take a minute to listen- you won't be sorry:
