The WWE announced yesterday that King Kong Bundy has passed away at the age of 61.

According to Fox News, his real name was Christopher Pallies and he was originally from New Jersey. He was 6 foot 4 and weighed 456 pounds.

I remember him as being one of the bad guys in the WWF as it was called back then. He was the big bald-headed guy that used to make the referee's count to 5 instead of 3 for a pin. I remember he and Hulk Hogan battling for a title at one of the early Wrestlemanias.

I also remember the tag team of King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd who had a feud going between them and the British Bulldogs.

According to Fox News, he left the WWE in 1994 and was one of the many wrestlers that sued the WWE claiming that the company didn't do enough to help employees that had suffered head injuries. According to Wikipedia, King Kong Bundy continued to wrestle on the Independent circuit from 1995 through 2007.

King Kong Bundy also made an appearance on the television show "Married With Children" where he played Uncle Irwin, Peggy Bundy's brother, according to Fox News.
