Endicott Man Charged With Murder Following Weekend Shooting
In a tragic turn of events, residents of Endicott have been shaken by yet another weekend shooting incident that has resulted in a loss of life.

The Endicott Police Department is actively investigating a case involving Antoine C. Loup Jr., a resident of Endicott, who has been charged in connection with the shooting.
Endicott Police say they received a call at 12:09 a.m. on Saturday, July 8 about a shooting on Fillmore Avenue in the Village of Endicott and were on the scene approximately one minute later. They were assisted by New York State Police and Broome County Sheriff’s patrols.
Upon arrival, Endicott Police say that they discovered a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. Endicott Fire-EMS and Union Volunteer Emergency Squad members treated the victim on the scene before transporting him to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City.
Police say that the victim, who has not yet been identified, did not survive the shooting.
According to Endicott Police, 49-year-old Antoine C. Loup Jr., of Arthur Avenue in Endicott, a person of interest in the case, was taken into custody at approximately 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, and was transported to the Broome County Centralized Arraignment Part to await arraignment.

While the motive behind the shooting is still being investigated, authorities have charged Loup with Murder in the 2nd Degree. Police say that an investigation has revealed that Loup and the victim knew one another and that the shooting was not a random act of violence.
Police also note that this shooting is not related to the shooting that occurred on Adams Avenue on Saturday, July 1. The Endicott Police Department continues to investigate this crime and notes that no further information regarding the case will be released at present time.
