Well, they've done it again....again at the DICK'S Sporting Goods Open. For the 3rd time in their 12 year history, they've been selected as the #1 stop on the PGA TOUR Champions.

This award is presented every year to a tournament that always goes above and beyond with the players. It's no surprise to me, players have remarked since the BC Open days, how much they looked forward to coming to our area.

My Dad and I have a tradition of going together to the final round on Sunday and I really look forward to that. It's awesome that we have a chance to see the legends of golf, up close and personal, in our own backyard.

Here's more great news, it's not the only award that they got. The PGA TOUR Champions have selected Christopher “Cheech” Chechatka from the DICK’S Sporting Goods Open, as its 2018 Volunteer of the Year.

He has contributed countless hours volunteering in the community, including the DICK’S Sporting Goods Open. For the past 40 years, Chechatka has led the volunteer operations committee, providing set up/tear down support and serving as the tournament’s all-around handyman.

His team is in charge of clean-up following the Friday night concert and help keep the course spotless and ready to go on Saturday. Speaking of the Friday night show.

It's considered THE EVENT in the Southern Tier every year and it looks like it'll be again next year. CMA Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban will be performing Friday, August 16th, go here to find out more and get your tickets.

The 2019 DICK’S Sporting Goods Open will be at En-Joie Golf Course from August 12th to the 18th and two-time tournament winner Bart Bryant is the defending champion.

The DICK'S Sporting Goods Open is more then just great golf and live music, go here to keep up with all the latest details.
