DICK’S Sporting Goods Open is More Than PGA Tour Champions Golf

The DICK'S Sporting Goods Open at En Joie Golf Course in Endicott is two weeks away. The tournament is August 12th to the 18th and it's more then just great golf with the PGA Tour Champions.

The first big event  is two weeks from today, it's Stories with Jack on Wednesday, August 14th. It's the UHS Golf Expo with honorary guest, Jack Nicklaus as he'll be making his first appearance in the Southern Tier.

Friday, August 16th, the day begins with golf's all time greats taking to the tees and greens with defending champion Bart Bryant. He is the only two-time winner at the DSG Open, he also hoisted the trophy in 2013.

Chris DiMarco, Jerry Kelly and David Toms will be making their first visit to the DSG Open. Joey Sindelar, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Kenny Perry and my personal favorite, Fred Funk will also be in the field.

Friday night is considered to be THE social event of the year in the Southern Tier with the Friday night concert. Local favorite Kolby Oakley will be the special guest performer before the CMA and ACM  Entertainer of the Year, Keith Urban takes to the stage.

If you've wanted to enjoy golf at a price that can't be beat then Saturday, August 17th, is for you with EnJoie the Day on HHK (Hinman, Howard & Katell.) You can get free tickets to see your favorite players and support the local charities that benefit from the special event.

Sunday is always a big day for me at the DSG Open. It's been a tradition for many years now, to go with my dad to the final round. It's great golf that's given me even better memories.

So as you can see it's much more then golf... although that would be enough for me.
