Last summer, I heard about this group called, Broome County Clean Up Crew (BCCC) and I even had the opportunity to help them out once. BCCC is an all volunteer nonprofit organization located in Binghamton.

Over the summer, they will do weekly community cleanups/beautification efforts throughout Broome County. Their goal is to provide an outlet for community members to give back in a positive way, while cleaning up the streets to enhance the appearance of our town.

It was an amazing experience and I was surprised (in a good way) by how many people would stop and ask us about the organization while we were cleaning up.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, I have great news. You don't have to wait till the summer to help beautify our area. They are having a COMMUNITY CLEAN UP for Earth Day this Sunday, April 22nd.

They'll be meeting outside of The Chatterbox, 21 Main Street in Binghamton and it goes from 3 to 4:30 p.m. so it won't take up your whole day. The weather looks good with temperatures around 50.

This is a great way to show the youth in our area, the importance of keeping our environment and community litter free. So if you are looking to make a difference for Earth Day this year and didn't know what to do, then BCCC has the perfect answer for you.

If you are interested in participating or know someone that would and you want information, then go here. You didn't need to sign up, just show up.
