Body Found in Town of Taylor in Cortland County

Cortland County Sheriff’s officials are investigating the discovery of a body along a road in the Town of Taylor.

Authorities have identified the 30-year-old man as Brandon Thompson of Cortland.

His body was found about fifty yards off Elwood Road at around 11:15 a.m. March 31 as authorities were conducting a separate follow-up investigation in the area.

Investigators say they spotted an unresponsive man when they approached and the Cortland County Coroner’s Office pronounced the subject dead at the scene.

An autopsy was being done at Lourdes Hospital.

Officials say at this point they do not suspect foul play.
