The Binghamton All-Star Baseball Team is reaching out to the Southern Tier community for support in making Binghamton history.

This year marks a significant milestone for the Binghamton Recreation League as the 14U and 16U baseball teams have advanced to the Williamsport State Finals for the first time ever.

Should either of these teams be victorious, it would be the first time in history that a Binghamton baseball team has reached the state finals.

Paul White, the President of the Binghamton Youth Sports Association and coach of the 14U team, shared that the league is currently facing financial challenges. While there are sufficient funds to send the 16U team to the state finals, additional support is needed to ensure that the 14U team can also make the trip.

"Everything we do at BYSA and the Parks & Rec Department is for the kids," White emphasized. "If I had the money in my pocket, I'd give it up for them in a heartbeat. We have generous donors and sponsors in the area, but we want to give every child the opportunity to experience this moment."

With the state finals just around the corner, White is calling on the community to come together and contribute to help make sure that both teams have the chance to compete at the highest level.
