The Empire State of Procrastination – New York’s Time Management Dilemma
Stop me if you have heard this before: Procrastinators - the leaders of tomorrow! It's funny...until it isn't. When you live in a state like New York, life can be demanding but procrastination can still find a way into our lives.
According to a recent study about the states with the most procrastinators, the Empire State is not immune to putting off tasks. The study surveyed Americans from every state to find out what their procrastination habits are and looked at tasks they delay, the reasons for procrastination, and how often it happens.
Even though there are a lot of motivated people in the Empire State, they still struggle with procrastination. While New York isn't number one when it comes to procrastination, New Yorkers aren’t strangers to putting things off either.
From delaying household chores, putting off exercise, or procrastinating on important medical appointments, New Yorkers, like many other Americans, battle the urge to procrastinate, they struggle to take tasks off their to-do lists in a timely manner..
Lacking motivation was the biggest reason behind procrastination among New Yorkers and Americans overall. The study showed that almost 2 in 5 people say they put things off when they should be getting it done.
If you find yourself being a procrastinator there are things you can do to help you get motivated. Experts suggest starting with small steps and working your way up to bigger tasks.
So, the next time you find yourself putting off what needs to get done, know that you aren't alone.
