Festival Of Lights Continues With 2 Special Events This Weekend
It's been 10 years since there were holiday lights at Otsiningo Park and they couldn't have returned at a better time. For many years, the Hometown Holiday Lights Spectacular would brighten up the Southern Tier.
After the flood in 2011 caused electrical problems at the park, the lights and displays disappeared until Spiediefest stepped up to the plate and hit this event out of the park. It's the Broome County Festival of Lights and because of all the bad weather that we experienced, they are staying open until Saturday, January 23rd.
They also have new hours as they'll be open from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. EVERY NIGHT. There are a few special nights at Otsiningo Park that you don't want to miss. On Saturday, January 16th, it's Twin Tiers Honor Flight benefit night, where ALL proceeds go directly to the Twin Tiers Honor Flight.
On Sunday, January 17th, it's the Holiday Hot Air Balloon Night Glow from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Make sure to bring your camera to take pictures because you could end up winning a $100 cash. Ask at the gate on how you could win.
On the final night, Saturday, January 23rd, it will be the final Fire Works Night with a unique twist on their normal fireworks display, which will only be seen in the park. As you can see there is still some time to enjoy this de-light-ful drive around Otsiningo Park and as always free admission every night for veterans.
