YMCA of Broome County Healthy Kids Day® Scheduled for Saturday May 3rd
On Saturday May 3rd, the YMCA of Broome County will hold a free community event to inspire more kids to keep both their minds and bodies active.
YMCA’S Healthy Kids Day will feature games, healthy snacks, Zumba for kids and several local vendors to motivate and teach families how to develop a healthy routines at home.
“One in three U.S. children is obese. These statistics, coupled with the fact that once summer hits, children will be more idle, demonstrates why it’s important to help families develop healthy habits now,” said Nikki Restino, Director of School Age Child Care, YMCA of Broome County. “As part of the Y’s commitment to healthy living, through YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day our goal is to improve the health and well-being of kids and inspire habits they can continue into adulthood.”
The YMCA of Broome County’s Healthy Kids Day will take place at the West Family Y from 1pm-3:30pm and features fun, active play and educational activities such as face painting, arts and crafts, healthy snacks from Chobani and Cabot Cheese, swimming and much more.
