New Yorkers: What Would Your Ideal Adult Easter Basket Include?

Easter is a time for chocolate eggs, marshmallow peeps, and pastel-colored baskets filled to the brim with candy and small toys. But is it fair that only kids get to have fun with Easter baskets?

As an adult, I sometimes find myself feeling a little envious of the Easter Bunny's offerings. Sure, I could go and buy myself some candy any time of the year, but there's something special about receiving a basket filled with goodies.

I posed this question to my friend Traci, and it turns out I'm not alone in my wishes. Traci shared a funny story about one of her friends who took her desire for an adult Easter basket a little too literally. Rather than a basket of treats, she received an Easter basket that included batteries and a Ken doll.

While we don't want that kind of Easter basket, the idea of receiving a basket of our own is still a tempting one. So, what would we want to be included in an adult Easter basket?

For me, I'd love to see a mix of sweet and savory snacks. Some gourmet popcorn, chocolate-covered almonds, and a bag of my favorite potato chips would be a great start. Maybe even a small bottle of wine or a craft beer to wash it all down.

In addition to snacks, I think a few small gifts would also be a fun addition. A new pair of socks, a scented candle, or a fun desk toy would be a nice added surprise.

Maybe the idea of an adult Easter basket will catch on, and we'll start seeing more baskets filled with goodies for grown-ups. Until then, I think I'll be buying a few treats for myself to indulge in this Easter.
