It's almost here and there is still time to participate, it's your chance to join law enforcement officers from around the Southern Tier of New York for their charity event this Friday, September 21st at the Links at Hiawatha Landing Golf Course in Apalachin.

It's "Cops 4 A Cause" and this second annual event is organized by local active and retired law enforcement members to give directly back to the community. Proceeds from this year's event will go directly to "Super Cooper Saves The Day" and  "InspiRed Hearts."

InspirRed Hearts is a local charity that is a spin off of Mended Little Hearts of Binghamton, a charity that helps children born with heart defects.

Last year's event raised more than $17,000 being donated to local charities and they look to go beyond that this year. The Cops for a Cause organizers along with the Vestal Police Department PBA have put this event together.

New York State Senator Fred Akshar was in law enforcement before joining the New York State Senate and he will be on hand and knows how important it is to give back to the community. He hopes that you'll have the opportunity to help too.

You can help local law enforcement members in this noble cause by getting a foursome into the tournament, contact Scott at Cops4acauseny@gmail.com to get involved.
