Camping is #1 Outdoor Vacation Activity

According to the Adventure Travel Report Travel Industry Association,  "camping is the number one outdoor vacation activity in America."  Do you remember when the camping show used to be at the Binghamton Armory?  It was always one of my favorite shows to visit in the dead of winter and now it's back in it's 10th year at the Events Center at Binghamton Univeristy for 3 days this March.

Camping has some interesting stats.

1)  One third of U.S. adults say they have gone on a camping vacation in the past five years and only 6% of people who have gone camping said it was not for them.

2)  Camping vacationers tend to be married with children at home. The average age of travelers who go camping is 37 and their median household income is $43,000.

3)  People who go camping also tend to enjoy hiking, biking and canoeing.

4)  Fifty-nine percent of campers said they traveled with their spouses on their most recent outdoor vacation and nearly half traveled with their children.

The Binghamton 10th Annual Outdoor and Camping Show is 3 days -- Friday March 19th from Noon-8, Saturday the 19th from 10-9 and Sunday March 20th from 10am-4pm.  This year's show will feature 5th wheel campers, travel trailers, toy haulers, pop ups and plenty area campgrounds.
