Apple and Pumpkin Picking in and Around the Southern Tier
Whether you want to pick apples with the kids, or you want to pick out the perfect carving pumpkin for Halloween, the time is right! Here are some of the places in and around the Southern Tier where you'll find apples and pumpkins as well as fun family things to do this fall.

Lone Maple Farm has a nice selection of apples in their farm market, but if you want to pick your own apples, the orchards are open Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 5pm as long as the weather is good.

At Grisamore Farms you can visit with farm animals, ride a wagon and pick out a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. Grisamore Farms also has freshly made cider, a gift shop, mums and more.

Tuckerman Farms is a working fruit farm and is self-serve. Tuckerman Farms will be open Saturday and Sunday from 8am-5pm. You should know that Tuckerman Farms is cash only.

Katie's Pumpkin Patch is part of a third-generation family farm and their pumpkin patch opened for the 20th season on September 21st. Katie's Pumpkin Patch also offers a corn maze and hayrides. Please note that they're closed on Saturdays, but open Sundays from 10am-6pm.

Stoughton Farm is packed with fun for the whole family with pumpkins, apples, and corn for sale in their farm stand. Plus, they've got a huge corn maze, hayrides, cow train rides, a snack bar and lots more. Stoughton Farm is open Monday-Thursday from 9am-6pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 9am-10pm and Sundays from 9am-5pm.

At Russell Farms you can pick apples from the orchard or pumpkins from the patch. And, there’s a whole lot of other fun stuff to do including hayrides, a petting zoo, a historic school-house, face painting, pony rides and more! Russell Farms is open Monday-Friday from 10am-6pm, Saturdays from 9am-6pm, and Sundays from 9am-5pm.

While apple picking is over for the 2017 season, Little Tree Orchards will be open weekends through October from 10am-4pm. Stop by and grab some apple cider donuts, apple cider, and pies.

This is a place that my family loves to visit when we want to get away for the day, but we don't want to go too far. Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard has a nice playground area for little kids, as well as a snack shack. They've also got a really big gift shop and an area outdoors where you can feed their ducks and geese. Fly Creek is open Monday through Friday from 9am-6pm.
My family stumbled on the Cullen Pumpkin Farm one day when we were out exploring the world around us. The Shypski family really does a fantastic job making families feel welcome with a pick your own pumpkin patch, free wagon rides (including the Pumpkin Express), a free corn maze and more. Cullen Pumpkin Farm is open daily until 6pm through October 31st.
