The Waverly Wrestling Club is inviting the community to come together for a Week 0 fundraiser and tailgate at East Waverly Park on Friday, August 30.

The event will run from 12 to 6 p.m., leading right into the big football matchup between Waverly High School and the PIAA State Champions, the Trojans of Troy.

This tailgate is about more than just food, it’s a full afternoon of community fun. From concessions and music to a cornhole tournament and hot dog eating contest, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Admission to the event is completely free, making it the perfect way for families and fans to gather before the big game.

Cornhole Competition and Hot Dog Eating Contest Highlight Tailgate Festivities

The cornhole tournament kicks off at 1 p.m., with teams competing for cash prizes and bragging rights. Later in the day, at 3 p.m., the hot dog eating contest is sure to bring plenty of laughs and cheers from the crowd. These events give everyone a chance to get involved while also supporting the wrestling program.

Tailgate Serves Up Food, Music, and Community Spirit Ahead of Wolverines Game

Throughout the afternoon, visitors can grab food and drinks from the grill and enjoy music as part of the tailgate atmosphere. It’s a celebration of local pride, and a way to rally behind both the wrestling club and the Wolverines football team before they face Troy at 6 p.m.
