Uber, the most popular ride sharing App has changed the way many cities move around town and it could be coming to Binghamton soon, here are a few facts about Uber.

According to Newsrooms beginning guide to Uber is a ride sharing service App that allows everyday people who are looking for a ride to connect with others who will pick them up and take them to their destination.

Uber gets your location from the GPS on your smart phone and will connect you with the nearest available driver.

What’s cool about Uber is that once you enter your location and destination, you get a price quote from the driver so you already know how much it is going to cost you, and all monetary transactions are done through credit card or PayPal.

There is also a ratings system that keeps a record of your experience as a rider and the drivers rating towards you as a customer.

This is a much safer way to travel since all drivers are registered with Uber and no money is ever exchanged.

According to an article on the WNBF web site, our Mayor is in support of bringing Uber to Binghamton, the site also says that the App is downloaded by 1,500 Binghamton residents each month.

I’m sure it is just a matter of time before Uber hits Binghamton.
