If you live in New York, there’s a good chance you’ve used AI. Maybe it helped you write an email, answer a question, or plan something fast. Here’s the interesting part, even though more and more people are using AI, many still don’t fully trust it.

People Are Using It at Work, But Carefully

A new survey found that most workers do trust AI when it comes to basic tasks. In fact, about 75 percent said they trust the answers AI gives them on the job. But that trust only goes so far. Many people said they would not trust AI with anything sensitive.

Things like private information or important decisions still feel risky. Some workers have even had problems because of AI, with about one in six saying it caused a serious issue at work. So while it can help, most people are still using caution when it comes to its reliability.

Bigger Concerns Outside of Work

When it comes to the bigger picture, New Yorkers feel even more unsure. A large number of New Yorkers say they don’t trust the government to use AI responsibly. Others worry about surveillance and how AI could be used to track or monitor people. Some think AI could lead to a future where privacy is harder to protect.
