In the aftermath of the horrific devastation in Newtown, CT last December, a special auction called "Music for Newtown" has been launched and several musicians have donated special limited-edition items to help raise funds.

There was an incredible, immediate outpouring from people wanting to help the families in Newtown, but the needs continue. Many of the affected families are out of work and struggling financially. Resources are still needed for ongoing counseling services and eventually for building or rebuilding, depending upon what is decided for the future of Sandy Hook Elementary School.

All proceeds from the "Music for Newtown" event will will benefit the "Sandy Hook School Support Fund." The fund will support the long-term recovery needs of the Newtown community.

Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift and Florida Georgia Line are among the musicians donating items to benefit the families, the first responders, and the community of Newtown, Connecticut who were devastated by the Sandy Hook school shootings in December.

Among the auction items are two tickets to Tim's June 30th show in New Jersey, a guitar signed by Taylor and a photo signed by Florida Georgia Line.Other artists who contributed  items include fun., Goyte, Colbie Caillat, and Lisa Marie Presley.

The "Sandy Hook School Support Fund" was set up through Newtown Savings Bank/United Way of Western Connecticut. United Way of Western Connecticut has waived their fees so all the money will go directly to Newtown.  Funds will provide support services to the families and community that have been affected. Donations are also accepted directly through the site during the auction or by sending "Music For Newtown" a check made out to "Sandy Hook School Support Fund".

The Music for Newtown Auction runs from March 25th through 27th.
