I realize that there is more time behind me then ahead of me and I'm realizing that my dreams might not come true. This is a comment not a complaint because overall, I'm happy with how things have turned out.....Overall.

I also realize that I need to do things to stay healthy: Exercise, lose some weight and don't eat that third plate of food at the Chinese buffet.

Well, according to the scientists from Telegraph, here are some other things that we all should consider doing every day. Here's what they say and what I think about it:

Shake hands: Handshakes are more than just friendly gestures. It actually activates the part of the brain that generates excitement. So, shake hands and ride that emotional wave to improve your performance.

As a basketball official, the players give us a fist bump before the game instead of a handshake because they are worried about germs. Here's another potential problem, the limp-wrist handshake. Ugh.

Play computer games: Playing video games improves overall brain health.

This may sound good for your mental health until I play my 14 year old daughter and she keeps saying "C'mon Dad, quit letting me win." I have news for her, I'm not.

Take lots of breaks: Spending to much time doing one thing can cause you to lose concentration. So, take short breaks and become more productive.

Here's some advice that's easy....whoops, lost my train of thought. I guess it's time to take a break and stop writing this story.

Here's the long and the short of it all. Steve Jobs said: Live like today is your last day, someday you'll be right. I say: Live it up...but don't live it up so high that you can't live it down.
