What a first year it's been for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.They closed the regular season with a 9-3 victory over the Hartford Yard Goats. They have won eight in a row, which is the longest winning streak since they won 12 in a row from July 20th to August 1st in 2006.

They end up with 85 wins which is the second most in franchise history. Corey Oswalt has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the year with 12 wins, 2.28 ERA  and striking out a career-high 119 batters.

David Thompson was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and Tim Peterson won the 10th Man/Teammate of the Year award.

The Eastern Division Championship Series playoffs  begin at NYSEG Stadium with a Double-A Subway series on Wednesday against the Trenton Thunder at 6:35.

Before the game on Wednesday, there will be a playoff pep rally at the Colonial on Court Street across the road from the Hawk studio. It begins at 4 pm and is free of charge.

The  Edward P. Maloney Memorial Pipe Band will play and at 5:45, the Pipe Band and Rowdy will lead a parade from The Colonial to NYSEG Stadium for Game 1 of the Division Championship Series.

State Street (from Court St to Henry St) and Henry Street (from State St to Fayette St) will be closed to traffic from 5:45 PM to 6:15 PM.
