We all know Halloween movies (Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream) and we know Christmas movies (A Wonderful Life, Elf, Home Alone).  But what about movies for Thanksgiving?

I'll be honest with you (really why would I lie), I don't know too many movies that I would associate with Thanksgiving.  Think about this, what movie do we all watch when we get together for Thanksgiving.  I think of Christmas Story when we get together for Christmas but I'm coming up with a blank for Thanksgiving. The closet thing I can think of is watching football on tv but it's just the men and most of the time we're asleep through it anyway.

TLC.com has come up with a list of the best Thanksgiving movies of all time.  Thank goodness they did, because I was only coming up with one.  They say Home for the Holidays is in the top 5.  It stars Robert Downey Jr and Holly Hunter but if you asked me, I would have said it's a Christmas movie.  Side note, Did you know that Jingle Bells was originally a song for Thanksgiving.....me neither.  The Blind Side is also in their top 5....why, not because they were thankful that they could help a child out of proverty and into the NFL.  It came out Thanksgiving Day, so Ta Da,  thanksgiving movie.  At least Sandra Bullock won a Oscar and Tim McGraws "Southern Voice" was played during the closing credits and that's right, it's a football movie on one of the biggest days of football (besides the Super Bowl).

The number one movie according to TLC.com is: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.  We remember Charlie Brown Christmas and It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.  I do remember this movie but it helps that I was 9 years old at the time.  So the number 1 Thanksgiving movie of all time came out 40 years ago.  At least it won an Emmy.  So there you go,  Happy Thanksgiving and we'll see you at the movies...ok, I'll see you at
