Chris Ulmer is a teacher who starts each day like every other teacher. Chris walks into class, greets his students and takes attendance.

But there's one other thing that Chris does that most teachers don't.

You see, Chris is a special education teacher and he takes 10 minutes out of every day to individually compliment each of his students and he does it in front of the entire class. Chris says that he hopes doing this will build their confidence by putting the focus on their very best qualities.

Chris explains, "Simple reminders of their positive attributes shifts [the students'] focus from what they can’t do to what they can do." He adds, "Instead of focusing on deficits I focus on talents. The children have become much more social and their communication skills have grown incredibly, both verbal and nonverbal."

Chris shared a video of one of his sessions and it's gone viral for a pretty obvious reason-it's awesome. If only people of all ages, all around the world took time to dole out more compliments and affirmations. Imagine how much nicer the world would be.
