SUNY Oneonta has been named by Money magazine as a “Best College for Your Money,” ranking #224 among colleges and universities across the nation.

To be named a school that successfully combines quality and affordability, SUNY Oneonta was evaluated on 19,000 data points, including tuition fees, family borrowing and career earnings.

To make the initial cut for Money’s list, colleges and universities need to have at least 500 students, have sufficient, reliable data to be analyzed; not be in financial distress; and have a graduation rate that was at or above the median for its institutional category, or have a high “value-added” graduation rate (score in the top 25% of graduation rates after accounting for the average test scores and percentage of low-income students among its enrollees).

Money sourced the U.S. Department of Education, Peterson’s, PayScale.com and MONEY/College Measures for its calculations.

In addition to its recognition by Money, SUNY Oneonta has been named among public colleges on Kiplinger's Personal Finance list of "Best College Values" (2019).
