Free Food, Free Ice Cream, and Free College Information at SUNY Broome Event

If you've been thinking about going to college or going back to school, this free event at SUNY Broome Community College could be the perfect place to start. The college is inviting future students and their families to the SUNY Broome Social on Wednesday, July 22nd, for an afternoon of free food, ice cream, fun activities, and information about free community college.

The event will focus on SUNY Reconnect, a New York program that helps eligible adults attend community college tuition free. Staff will be there to answer questions, explain the program, and help future students get ready for the Fall 2026 semester, which begins on Aug. 24th.

Free Food and Family Fun

The event goes from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the SUNY Broome campus. Everyone who attends will enjoy free meals from The Kitchen Counter, free ice cream, and family friendly activities. There will also be face painting and other fun things for kids, making it an event the whole family can enjoy.

Adult Learners Are Encouraged to Attend

The event is geared toward adults between the ages of 25 and 55 who may be thinking about starting college for the first time or returning to finish a degree. But everyone is welcome, including younger students, high school graduates, and their families.
