I start work between 3:30am and 4am and let me tell you, getting up at 2am or 3am to start the day is tougher than most people would imagine. Throw in spouses and kids and late night obligations and not crawling into bed until 11pm most nights, and it's a wonder that I'm even able to get our legs into our jeans some morning.

I'm definitely not the only one who struggles with the shock of getting up before my body is ready for me to.

According to researchers from the University of Oxford, working a nine-to-five job exhausts our bodies – and the stress of that exhaustion puts our health at risk.

The researchers went so far as to say that starting a workday before 9am can be classified as actual "torture." So, what would they classify starting a workday at 4am?

The researchers say that the problem is that nine-to-five jobs conflict with our natural, hard-wired 24-hour rhythms and they say the solution is to change the standard work start time from 9am to 10am in order to match our bodies' natural sleep rhythms.

There's only one problem- 9 to 5 jobs don't really exist anymore. The "standard" workday is now more like 8am-5pm or 6pm.
