There are so many things that I love about Ross Park Zoo in Binghamton. My daughter looks forward to Boo at the Zoo and Howloween. and I like their Zoo Brew & Wine Too fundraiser. Last Sunday, they had their Penguin Bowl for the Covid-19 Relief Effort and to raise awareness for endangered species, if you missed the action, you can see the highlights here.

This Valentine's Day weekend is usually a big fundraiser for them with Courtship Tails. They would give guided tours around the zoo with behind the scenes secrets and learn about love in the animal world. Because of the pandemic, they are unable to have this event this year.

I've made friends there with many fond memories and can't wait to visit with them again soon. Just like everyone else, they've been struck by the coronavirus pandemic and there are reports that changes are coming to Ross Park Zoo along with the Discovery Center of the Southern Tier.

There has been some talk of bringing Ross Park Zoo and the Discovery Center together along with the Story Garden, bandshell, and carousel. The idea is to have Ross Park on one side and the Discovery Center on the other side.

As the plans go forward, the Community Foundation For South Central NY has promised them $50,000. They say "the future looks bright" and I think they are right. I can't wait to see what's next. What about you?
