He burst on the scene a couple of years ago. He switched equipment and struggled last year, but he's back and he's the best. His name......

Rory McIlroy. Sunday in the dark, he won the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky. It's his 4th major win.  He's only the 3rd to win 4 by the age of 25. He's in some good....make that great company with Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.

He was leading when play began on Sunday. He lost the lead by the 5th hole and regained it on the back nine. He defeated Phil Mickelson by one stroke with the only light left was the light rain that was falling.

The only major he hasn't won is the Masters.  It's the first major next April. A victory would make McIlroy the 6th to win all four majors in his career,. He would join Nicklaus, Woods, Ben Hogan, Gary Player and Gene Sarazen.

McIlroy’s best finish in six appearances at the Masters is a tie for eighth earlier this year. This will certainly give a lot of golf fans and media something to chat about til next years major.

Some credit his turn around when he called off his engagement....but that's a story for another day.
