The village of Johnson City is making preparations for repair work at Your Home Public Library.

The village is seeking bids for a roof rehabilitation project library at 107 Main Street.

Library director Ben Lainhart said leaks and cracks are posing a problem in a flat roof in what's regarded as the "new section" of the facility. That portion of the library was built in 1920. It was an addition to the original library, which had been a house constructed in 1885.

Lainhart said a few small leaks in the roof were patched over the past year. No damage was reported as a result of those leaks.

Lainhart said the roof repair project is not expected to take long to complete. He said the work should have no significant impact on library operations.

The project is expected to cost between $50,000 and $60,000.
