This Is the Celebrity New Yorkers Are Searching for Most

Taylor Swift may be one of the biggest stars in the world, but she is not the celebrity getting the most Google search interest in New York. That honor goes to actor Timothée Chalamet.

Chalamet was born in Manhattan and grew up in New York City. According to the study, New Yorkers have searched for him more than any of the other 99 major celebrities included in the research.

How the Study Was Done

The study was created for BetMGM Casino. Researchers looked at more than 6.6 million celebrity mentions from television, radio, podcasts, and online news. They compared that media coverage with Google searches and Wikipedia page views.

Taylor Swift Leads the Country

While Chalamet is the most searched celebrity in New York, Taylor Swift took the top spot nationwide. Swift accounted for more than 7 percent of all media coverage involving the 100 celebrities in the study.

That means about one out of every 14 celebrity mentions was about her. Michael Jackson came in second on the national list, even though he died in 2009. LeBron James placed third, followed by Bad Bunny and Sydney Sweeney.

Kevin Hart Wins the Most States

Comedian and actor Kevin Hart had the widest reach across the country. He received the most search interest in five states, more than any other celebrity included in the study.

A New York Star Holds New York’s Attention

The results show that national fame does not always decide who people search for in each state. For New Yorkers, a hometown connection may still matter. Even with Taylor Swift leading the nation, Manhattan born Timothée Chalamet is the celebrity creating the most curiosity here at home.
