Three Magical Christmas Train Rides in Upstate New York
Can you imagine your child’s joy when you let them know you’re taking them on a magical Christmas-themed train ride?
The Polar Express movie has become a Christmas favorite for both kids and adults and if you want to make this Christmas especially magical for the kids in your life, bringing to life a magical Christmas train ride to real life would be the perfect way to do it!
A lot of people are turning to giving experience-type gifts instead of those that fit inside boxes under the tree. If this is something you’ve been considering doing, Upstate New York is a fantastic place to make that happen because we have several options for Christmas-themed train rides.
Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley Railroad's Santa Express Train
A little bit longer than some of the other train rides in Upstate New York, the Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley Railroad's Santa Express Train is a two-and-a-half-hour ride aboard a decorated train with the one and only Santa and Mrs. Claus. Holiday music and treats are part of this adventure. The Santa Express train runs every Saturday and Sunday from November 26 through December 18.
The Catskill Mountain Railroad Polar Express
Your little ones can step aboard the Catskill Mountain Railroad express in their favorite cozy pajamas. They’ll be delighted by conductors who will punch their tickets, chefs who will serve them hot chocolate, and giggle with happiness at getting to meet Santa. The Catskill Mountain Railroad Polar Express trip is an hour-and-a-half journey and runs Friday through Sunday through December 18, Wednesday through Friday, December 21-23, and Monday through Wednesday, December 26-28.
Arcade and Attica Railroad's Santa’s Wonderland Express
Your kids will love this train ride where they’ll get to enjoy music and food before meeting Santa and his reindeer and then mailing off their Christmas wish list to the North Pole. The Arcade and Attica Railroad’s Santa’s Wonderland Express is a two-hour and twenty-minute ride and it runs Saturdays and Sundays through December 18.
