Cable television personality Jeanine Pirro has admitted she was driving far over the speed limit when she was pulled over by a state trooper on Route 17 in the town of Nichols.

Pirro, who hosts a weekend program on Fox News Channel, pleaded guilty to speeding.

A state trooper said the 2017 Cadillac driven by Pirro was clocked at 119 miles per hour in Tioga County on the afternoon of November 19. The former Westchester County district attorney pleaded guilty to driving 95 mph.

Pirro was fined $300 and assessed a $93 surcharge. She made the payment by mail earlier this month and did not appear in Nichols town court.

In addition to the fine and surcharge, Pirro was ordered to take a defensive driving course.

In a statement released shortly after the incident, Pirro said she didn't realize how fast she had been driving. She was traveling to Elmira to visit her ailing mother.
