This Sunday, my daughter, Tara and I will get together to watch the biggest game of the year! NO, it's not the football game but something more important...Kitten Bowl VII on the Hallmark Channel and Puppy Bowl XVI on Animal Planet.

What we don't watch live, we tape and cheer for our favorite animals. We think it's awesome that the various agencies take the time to bring awareness to these animals that are looking for new homes.

The Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park is also taking advantage of the same opportunity with their third annual Penguin Bowl. The African penguins are competing to raise awareness for endangered species and in support of the Binghamton Zoo's conservation efforts.

It'll be broadcast live on the zoo's Facebook and Instagram pages from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. After the Big game, the Binghamton Zoo's Instagram page will have a post-game rundown. Find out if Gnat can repeat his performance and be named MVP (Most Valuable Penguin) for the second year in a row?

Good luck to all the competitors where the real winners are the animals. Check out the starting line-up and find out how to get involved with Penguin Bowl III at the 5th Oldest Zoo here. GO TEAM!!!
