This Sunday is going to the dogs...and the kittens and penguins. We all know about the Big Game on Sunday evening in Tampa Bay but these games may be even more important.

Ross Park Zoo will have Penguin IV with their African penguins beginning at 10 a.m.for the zoo's COVID relief effort. Then on Sunday afternoon, my daughter Tara and I like to get together and watch Kitten Bowl VII on the Hallmark Channel and Puppy Bowl XVI on Animal Planet.

The Kitten Bowl kicks off at 2 p.m. with Beth Sterns returning as host with Cameron Mathison and Tamera Mowry-Housley offering play-by-play. If Tara could only watch one game on Sunday, it would definitely be this one.

She is a cat whisperer, if I'm ever looking for the two cats in the house, I just look for Tara.  You can meet all the kittens for Sunday's game here.

Puppy Bowl XVII will air on Animal Planet with fur-ocious battle also at 2 p.m. This year Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart will be your host with Steve Levy and Sage Steele providing the sideline commentary.

This year, Team Ruff and Team Fluff will try to win the "Lombarky" trophy, see the starting lineups here. The real winners are the animals with all the players you see on the screen up for adoption from over 20 shelters across the northeast U.S.

What we don't watch live, we tape and cheer for our favorite animals. We think it's awesome that the various agencies take the time to bring awareness to all these animals that are looking for new homes.
