Owego Strawberry Festival Returning This June
One of the Southern Tier’s favorite summer traditions is back. The Owego Strawberry Festival will return this year for its 44th annual celebration, bringing music, food, fireworks, and fun to Owego. The festival runs from June 18th through June 20th, with events at both Hickories Park and downtown Owego.
The Festival Kicks Off With a 5K Run
The celebration begins on Thursday, June 18, with the Strawberry Festival 5K Walk and Run at Hickories Park in Owego. Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to participate in the timed event. Registration is open for everyone.
Block Party and Fireworks in Downtown Owego
Festivities move to downtown Owego on Friday, June 19th, with a Block Party to kick off the weekend. You'll enjoy live music, food vendors, and a festive atmosphere. The night will wrap up with a fireworks display over Owego, lighting up the sky to celebrate the start of the festival weekend.
Saturday Parade and Festival Fun
The main festival day is Saturday, June 20th, when downtown Owego fills with visitors for a full day of entertainment. There will be the annual parade with youth groups, veterans, local organizations, businesses, and community members marching through the village. More than 20 bands will perform on multiple stages, so there's something for everyone.

This Year’s Theme: Sweet Liberty
The theme for the 2026 festival is “Sweet Liberty.” Organizers say the theme was chosen to recognize the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
A True Community Celebration
The focus of the Owego Strawberry Festival has always been about bringing the community together. With live music, food, a parade, fireworks, and family-friendly events, it is one of the Southern Tier’s biggest summer celebrations.
