In today's world, it feels like everyone is running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I've seen that, so I know what it looks like. We are running around as fast as we can but don't know where we are really going.

We try to get everything done all at once and get the most out of the day. But who has the busiest schedule of all? Drumroll, please...New York State takes the crown for having the most highly scheduled lives!

According to a survey by Mixbook, New York State residents know how to fill up their calendars the most. Mixbook asked people across America about their weeknights and weekends, and why they're so busy. No surprise here but New Yorkers are in a league of their own when it comes to crazy schedules.

The survey found that 63% of New York residents have at least half of their weekends planned out in advance. That means lazy Saturdays in bed and Sunday brunches are rare in the Empire State. During the week, 50% of New Yorkers have more than half of their weeknights planned out too.

So, what's causing this? Turns out work is the big culprit with 3 out of 5 of us saying that responsibilities at work take up the majority of our time. Hobbies come in a close second, with 43% packing our schedules with our favorite projects. Gotta make time for what we love, right?

Mixbook's survey revealed that 50% of New Yorkers get anxious when our calendar is busting out at the seams. It's like running on a hamster wheel, and that really stresses everyone out including our loved ones.

Speaking of our loved ones, kids aren't immune to this hustle and bustle either. Over  40% of New Yorkers say that their kids are happy in their frenzy-filled lives. Maybe they're just used to the chaos or don't know anything else.

I would say take the time to find some time for yourself but as the saying goes, Ain't nobody got time for that, especially New Yorkers.
