New York Brewery Introduces Girl Scout Cookie Inspired Beer
Move over pumpkin spice, there's a new player in town. Literally.
If you were at our Binghamton on Tap Craft Beer Festival in February, then you definitely ponied up to the Southern Tier Brewing table for a sample or two. Or three. What you probably didn't know then is that they were in the process of turning one of America's most loved treats into liquid form for adults.
The Southern Tier Brewing Company has just released a new beer called "Thick Mint." Get it? This isn't to be confused with Girl Scout's "Thin Mint" because that would be a blatant copyright infringement. But we'll just say this- if the thin mint cookie were to be liquid and if it were to give you a nice little buzz, it would taste a whole lot like Souther Tier Brewing Company's "Thick Mint" beer.
Thick Mint beer is described as a high alcohol stout which is brewed with cocoa and mint and those who've tried it say that it tastes surprisingly like a Thin Mint cookie. Don't just take my word for it- Beer Advocate is a website where those who are experts in beer leave reviews and the user glass_house wrote this about Thick Mint,
If ever there was a beer that delivers what it advertises, this is it. Lots of mint, and lots of dark chocolate. Great dessert beer. The flavors come across natural and meld well, but it is a bit intense. The first sniff after popping the cap makes it clear what you're in for. This is the closest thing to a liquid fermented thin mint cookie I've had."
Can't wait to get your hands on this frothy goodness? Southern Tier Brewing Company has a fantastic store locator that will lead you right to where you need to go.
