The fall is the perfect time to head to the Adirondacks for exploring and hiking. Now there is a new way to access the Adirondack High Peaks. In an effort to relieve traffic and congestion in and around the various entry point to the Adirondack High Peaks, there will now be a new free shuttle bus.

According to News Channel 13, the new shuttle buses are aimed at encouraging hikers to find and explore other trails outside of the familiar Route 73 area. These buses will pick up and drop off between Lake Placid, the Whiteface Mountain Ski Center, the Whiteface Landing, and The Bear Den trailheads. They are set to begin this Friday, September 13th. The shuttles will run through October 6th including Columbus Day weekend.

The shuttle buses are a free service that is being funded by Essex County. The hope is that the shuttles will alleviate unnecessary traffic and congestion in those areas. This way more people can enjoy hiking the beautiful Adirondack High Peaks.
