Natural Selfies Get Fewer Dating App Swipes

Most guys will tell you that they prefer a woman who sports a natural, fresh face rather than one covered in makeup, but this pretty much proves that's not the case with guys looking to make a romantic connection.

Guess what happens when you put a makeup free photo of yourself on Tinder? Yep, you get less swipes.

Alexa Mitchell is a beauty vlogger who decided to do a littl experiment on Tinder to see what guys were really looking for. First she uploaded three fresh faced photos of herself and then swiped right on 100 men. How many do you think responded? Only 16 of them in a five hour time frame.

Then, Alexa decided to post the same exact photos but only after running them through the app Relook. Relook smoothed out her skin tone and wrinkles and whitened her teeth.

Alexa did the same thing she'd done the first time around- she swiped right on 100 more men with her retouched photo and I think you can probably guess what happened this time around. That's right- she got 73 responses, more than four times as many as the first when she posted the natural, untouched photos of herself.
