New York Governor Andrew Cumo has announced that New York State will observe a moment of silence at 9:30 this morning to remember the victims who were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Governor Cumo received a letter from Governor Malloy asking New York to join Connecticut in honoring the victims and so Governor Cumo is asking places of worship and government buildings to rings their bells 26 times for each life lost.

Governor Corbett of Pennsylvania has also asked that the state of Pennsylvania observe a moment of silence for the victims at 9:30 this morning.
