A jury delivered the verdict clearing 24-year-old Akeem Daniels of murder and weapons charges following a week-long trial.

27-year-old Daequan Dickerson died after being shot several times in what police said was a targeted shooting on Binghamton’s West Side.

The defense argued Daniels could not have been the trigger man in the shooting.

Daniels was arrested in Florida and still faces probation violation charges.

The man who was said to have been the driver of the car, 21-year-old Keyama Saint Joy of Endicott, is charged with murder in the case.
