Loaded Gun, Meth Seized in Raid on Binghamton’s “Forgotten Street”

Police found a loaded handgun and drugs in a house on what some folks regard as a street overlooked by Binghamton officials.

Investigators say a resident of 4 Beverly Place - just off Main Street in Johnson City - faces eleven charges following the raid, which occurred on Tuesday.

According to the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force, police recovered the weapon along with crystal methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription pills.

Officials say 39-year-old Timothy Bell faces felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.

Bell also was charged with criminally using drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of marijuana.

Bell was arraigned in Binghamton city court and sent to Broome County Jail.

Some Beverly Place residents have complained their street sometimes seems to be "forgotten" because several houses are in the city of Binghamton and a few are in the village of Johnson City.

Binghamton police must travel past the Endicott Johnson Workers Arch on Main Street into the village in order to reach the homes that are actually located in the city.
