New York Is Leading the Growth in AI Jobs

Artificial intelligence is changing the job market, and New York is leading the way. A new report from Floxy found that New York had the strongest mix of growth in AI jobs and online interest in AI coding.

AI Job Openings Grew 74% in New York

New York employers posted about 66,000 AI-related job openings in 2025. That was up from fewer than 38,000 openings in 2024. The increase of almost 75% shows that more New York businesses are looking for workers who understand AI.

New Yorkers Want to Learn AI Coding

Interest in AI coding is growing quickly. Online searches from New Yorkers looking for AI coding information and lessons rose by nearly 57 points between 2023 and 2025. That was the largest increase in the report.

What Is Vibe Coding?

Vibe coding is a newer way of creating computer programs with help from AI. A person explains what they want to build, and an AI tool writes much of the computer code for them. The person may not need years of coding experience, but they still need to guide the AI, test its work and fix problems.

New York Earned the Top Score

Floxy compared the growth in AI job postings with the growth in searches for AI coding. The numbers were adjusted to account for the size of each state’s population. New York got a score of 100, the highest possible score in the study.

AI Skills Could Become More Important

The report suggests that New York businesses are adding more jobs connected to artificial intelligence. It also shows that New Yorkers are trying to learn the skills needed for those jobs.
