With her song 'Peter Pan' hot in the Hawk Top 5 this week, Kelsea Ballerini will be taking over a Hawk Labor Day Weekend, with a guest appearance Sunday morning 6-8am on Rise Up Country and counting down the top 30 hits in country music, co-hosting Country Countdown USA, Sunday night 7-10pm.

Kelsea Ballerini is living a dream.  She's had a couple of #1 hits, she's on tour with Rascal Flatts, she's friends with Taylor Swift, she won the ACM Top New Female Vocalist in April, and she was just nominated for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year.  Not a bad year so far.

Chris Lane is also part of the Flatts tour.  Kelsea was with him when his debut song Fix went #1. "We got him some cake and celebrated with him.  He's the nicest dude, he's so talented.  I was so stoked to watch him have his first #1."

Earlier this year, Kelsea was on tour with Billy Currington. "He literally makes coconut water and coconut oil, in case you think he isn't tropical."

This week, Kelsea took part in the 10th annual ACM Honors in Nashville. "It's cool, I've got to go to it for a few years now, but this is the first time it will be shown on TV.  I am honoring Crystal Gayle.  I haven't met her, but I have hair envy.  I'm going to sing 'Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue.'" The ACM Honors can be seen next Friday night September 9th on CBS-TV."

Lon took the opportunity to wish Kelsea a Happy Birthday: "Gonna be 23." Gettin' on up there! I'm coming home from a 14-day run."

Kelsea also has great stories this week about Jason Aldean, Cole Swindell, Dan + Shay, Jennifer Nettles, and Lady Antebellum.
