A couple of weeks ago I told you about the CEO of Abercrombie who basically hates fat chicks. There were a lot of people talking about Mike Jeffries and how  he said that said his clothes are only for "cool, skinny kids" and that “Abercrombie is only interested in people with washboard stomachs who look like they're about to jump on a surfboard."

And I explained to you that A&F offers clothing sized XL and XXL for men, but not for women. Women's tops only go to a size large and pants only to a size 10.

There were people (like me) who thought the exclusion of the larger sizes wasn't so much the issue as it was that the CEO, through his words, was spreading the idea to our kids who shop in his stores that plus size girls aren’t cool and shouldn’t be part of the “in” crowd.

Well, it looks like Mike Jeffries' words have exploded in his face. When what Mike Jeffries said went viral, there was outrage. And not just from  plus sized beauties and angry parents, but my guess is also from kids who shop at his store.

The sales numbers are in and Abercrombie sales are down 13 percent this quarter, mostly due to the backlash from those shallow comments.

After the huge backlash due to the words of Mike Jeffries, it looks like even the cool, skinny kids are staying away from clothes that might make them look snobby or insensitive.
